Hollywood, Los Angeles, CA

Origin Story is a documentary by comedian and podcast host Kulap Vilaysack of Earwolf's "Who Charted?" It's an international road trip from Los Angeles to Minnesota to Laos, where Kulap's story began. It's a deeply personal but universal story about family secrets, alienation and personal responsibility.

New and Improved Perks!

With only 9 days left in our film's campaign, we wanted to announce some important updates:

New Perks:

Also for $1,000, enjoy a full-day (8-hour) career consultation with Earwolf/Midroll Founder and Chairman Jeff Ullrich. Get his expert advice on your business, career and/or the field of pro podcasting. Lowered $ on Premium Perks:

The "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" half-day set visit for you and two friends is now $5,000 instead of $7,500. Come by during a shoot (airfare, transportation and lodging not included) and meet the cast working that day, enjoy lunch and snap photos.

Also down from $7,500 to $5,000 is the appearance on IFC's "Comedy Bang! Bang!" Meet Host Scott Aukerman, take photos with him on the CBB couch and deliver a line on camera!

Maybe you want to sit in on a session of Earwolf's "How Did This Get Made?" and get 2 tickets to a live show and some podcast swag? It's now available for a $3,000 donation. The recording will be in Hollywood (airfare, transportation and lodging not included).

*All of the above perks also include website and Who Charted? shout-outs, a digital download and special thank-you credit in the film, and our undying gratitude.

Rest assured that this is the last time these perks will be changed; now's the time to claim what you like of the limited supply.

Thanks for your support thus far, and into the final stretch!

Kulap's Ready to be Asked Anything

Origin Story

Y'all, join us for a very special Reddit AMA on Thursday 9/4 at 3pm PT, would ya? Director Kulap will be planted firmly in place to answer all your burning questions.

Of course, she'll be happy to talk about Who Charted? and her other comedic ventures, but we anticipate lots of talk specifically about Origin Story, Kulap's background and filmmaking process, and the ongoing Indiegogo fundraising campaign. So come by and ask away; we'll provide a link at the start of the session. Hope to see you there!

Scott Aukerman Says So

Origin Story

Now that we've got the official Hot Saucerman stamp of approval on our Indiegogo campaign, you can feel even freer to donate. Every cent goes toward helping us finish the film, and we know you want to see it happen as much as Scotty Biscotti does. Bonus: Rocky does not object.
